Faith is simply taking the
Word of our Lord and believing that He
is who He says He is; and that He will
definitely bring into being all that He
has promised. It is a simple child like
belief that
accepts God's words as
TRUTH and LOVE, then
proceeds to act upon
them.
To have
faith is to place our confidence in God.
"By faith Noah, being warned
of God of things not yet, moved with
fear, prepared an ark for the saving of
his house... "Hebrews 11:7
Faith is
not something we can
literally see with our
eyes or touch with our
hands. It is a sure
belief that some event or
promise will come about.
God has given to each of
us a measure of faith.
Faith is a Truth
that we believe in-
a fact, an assurance, a hope, a trust
a conviction, a
confidence
"But
without faith it is
impossible to please Him:
for he that cometh to God
must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder
of them that diligently
seek Him" (Hebrews
11:6).
By faith
Abraham obeyed God.
Abraham believed God and believed that
through his seed,
"all
the nations of the earth
shall be blessed...
" (Genesis 18:18).
This promise of God unto
Abraham was fulfilled in the birth of
the Lord Jesus Christ.
"The
book of the genealogy of
Jesus Christ, the son of
David, the son of
Abraham" (Matthew
1:1).
Did
Abraham live to see this
promise fulfilled? No, he
did not live to see God's
promise fulfilled; but,
he believed God and was
fully assured in his
heart that God would do
exactly as He had
promised.
God
fulfilled His promise to Him through the
coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Faith
is not a feeling nor an emotion;
however, we do
feel emotions as a
result of our faith or
lack of faith.
Faith is a truth of God
to live by and live in.
By
faith, we inherit the promises of God.
"For
by grace you are saved
through faith; and that
not of yourselves, it is
the gift of God: not of
works, lest any man
should boast."
(Ephesians 2:8-9).
By
faith we...
cry out Abba, Father,
Galatians
4:6
come before our Father
with our needs, Matthew
6:9-13
ask for wisdom and
guidance,
James 1:5
INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF
GOD,

God hears and answers the prayer of
faith. He loves our obedience to Him
through faith and rewards us faithfully!
Faith pleases Him. We, just as Abraham
and others who have trusted God, must
believe that God does reward those who
trust Him.
Faith always requires
obedience. God says, "Now
the just shall live by faith" (Hebrews
10:38).
Do you see
the word "LIVE"
in the verse above? God
commands us to live by faith meaning
that we are to
walk through life's
circumstances trusting in Him.
"But
wilt thou know, O vain
man, that works without
faith is dead"
(James 2:20).
"By
faith they passed through
the Red Sea as though by
dry land..." (Hebrews
11:29).
"By
faith the walls of
Jericho fell down, after
they were compassed about
seven days" (Hebrews
11:30).
"By
faith Rahab the harlot
perished not with them
that believed not, when
she received the spies
with peace" (Hebrews
11:31).
Faith is an action: a response
from
us to the love of God in
Christ Jesus.
Heb 12:1-2
"Wherefore seeing we
also are compassed about
with so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay
aside every weight, and
the sin which doth so
easily beset us, and let
us run with patience the
race that is set before
us, Looking unto Jesus the author and
finisher of our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him endured the
cross, despising the shame, and is set
down at the right hand of the throne of
God" (Heb. 12:1-2).
